So to continue my posts about food in Italy I’m posting a collage of some of my different food (cibo) pictures (I’ll actually post the spice pictures at a later time because they’re some of my favorites I have taken.) To make this collage I used the collage option on picasa 3 and mixed the [...]

Europe does a really nice job lighting their monuments. I’ve noticed in Florence I always end up near these monuments late at night and they’re always so well lit. It’s made me really focus on improving the steadiness of my hands when taking shots. (Also, using things around me as a temporary tri-pod.) Here are [...]

I know what you’re thinking… “another Duomo post? really?” Well, yes. I do live two blocks away from it and is an incredible piece of architecture and Brunelleschi worked hard to earn the commission for the cupola. So to visit it once again, instead of just focusing on it’s exterior my friends and I finally [...]

So this is my first Sunday Still so I hope I’m doing this right. I have seen a horse, but every where in Florence (and Italy) there are statues of people on horseback which is now what I think of when I see the word “horse”.

Fall is my second favorite season because it always has these two perfect weeks when the sky is always blue and the leaves are so vibrant as they get ready to drop to the ground. Usually fall for me begins by the end of September but here in Florence it seemed to take forever to [...]

Two days ago was my fifth day in Florence, but my first day without some orientation meeting to go to. Of course I headed out to the Uffizi with my roommate and my D40 tucked safely in my purse. But in the end I only took three pictures of a deserted alley with it (I [...]

I’ve been in Florence (or as the locals call it Firenze) for about four and a half days and have only really seen a small section of the city. This is not because I do not want to, I would love to spend a day walking around every niche and cranny of the center of [...]

I leave for Florence Italy tomorrow. I’m a little bit nervous to go, but overall very excited to go! I can’t wait to take all the pictures of buildings and of all the different places I plan on going outside Florence alone. I have no idea where in the city I will be living, all [...]
