So even though I stopped posting during the past few months, I never really stopped taking pictures. The following pictures are from a lake called Upper Lake about two blocks away from my house that I took when I was taking my dog for a walk. It was a beautiful spring day, and the pictures do not feel like they were taking by a lake surrounded by houses but more in the wilderness.

When I go to the beach I find myself some what mesmerized by watching the waves crash into the shore line. I don’t know why, but I seem to end up just watching it forever. So I began to take a lot of pictures of the crashing waves. (Thanks to the automatic shutter setting too). Here are two of the pictures I took of the waves crashing.

…and take breaks and play on photoshop…and go and take pictures.
So I didn’t exactly hide my camera during this past week and a half. My friend (who I am trying to convince to get a wordpress photo blog because he is really good) dragged me to the Maine Basilica to take photos for his photoshop project and then he did something really cool with the photos that I wanted to try. I am not quite sure what exactly it is, but its cool. This also prompted me to make him put photo shop 7 on my computer. So when I took a much needed break from studying (I was feel like all I was doing was sleep, study, eat, study, eat, study sleep…repeat) I began playing around this new version of photoshop.
And I made this picture: “The Sun Stole the Water”

So it is very much Fall here in Maine, seems getting closer and closer much faster each day. I am predicting snow with in the next few weeks, and lucky its not suppose to snow snow for the next week and a half. So this is my way of holding on to the sun and color filled summer (as much as I LOVE the winter). I took this picture actually in mid/late September when I first got my new camera of a flower on my campus. The weather that day felt like summer and the colors in the photo SCREAM…SUMMER TIME!

Right now weather wise it feels and looks like the perfect time of the year. The leaves are changing color, there is that dieing leaves smell around (ie smells like fall), and it is getting colder but still not to cold. I still like the winter better (I love snow). I actually use to not really like fall at all, but I don’t remember why. Here in Maine, fall and winter are at a constant struggle to impress me with their beauty. So here is my first fall picture of fall 2009. ( I posted a fall picture previously from last fall.)

This is a reflection of some trees in Central Park in the pond/ lake thing by the Alice in Wonderland statue. I love that if I were to turn it upside down, it is so clear that the ripples then are the only clear indication that is a reflection and not a regular picture of the trees. And although the brightness is a little off, its still a nice picture.

So this picture is not of littler crystals but of sand. It is taken of a sand sample on a microscope. The close up shows the different types of minerals that make up that sand sample. Since I am taking a Geo class I could try to tell you what minerals, but only if you want me to.
I love how the microscope makes it unrecognizable of sand. And even though it isn’t 100% focused (better than my first two attempts) the minerals’ edges are still somewhat defined making a cool texture of different types of minerals.

…that’s what it looks like here in Maine when the leaves begin to change colors. All the colors are so vibrant and bright that it looks AMAZING and beautiful. I have only experienced one fall like this, since I am from Ohio, it isn’t as pretty, and I look forward to this upcoming one.
