The feel of black or white

August 21, 2009

Since I have gotten a digital SLR my favorite things to do has been to take similar pictures of the same thing with the main difference being that one picture is black and white while the other is color. By doing so, the color of the picture can really make the two pictures seem completely unrelated except for their subject matter.

I did a similar post on the subject back when I started the blog, but I also looked at the use of sepia. This time I’m not.

The two pictures below are of the same water fall in a cute little town about 30 minutes from my house. The black and white photo makes the picture look more like an old town while color photo makes the waterfall look like it is in the middle of the forest.
